Course Description
This qualification, along with suitable Key Skills, will give students the foundations towards a future Apprenticeship. The course includes extensive workshop practice and technical instruction, allowing them to build up the skills necessary for future employment in the industry. Modules include: Safety in Plumbing, Key Plumbing Principles, Common Plumbing Processes, Cold Water Systems, Domestic Hot Water Systems, Sanitation, Central Heating, Electrical Supply and Earth, Sheet Lead Work, Environmental Awareness and Effective Working Relationships.
Assessment method
Assessment is by continuous external and internal assessment; completing a portfolio containing workshop-based evidence and twelve examinations.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must pass a Plumbing aptitude test and preferably have GCSE grades A-C in Mathematics and English.
