This course gives individuals an introduction to plumbing and covers the following topics: introduction to domestic cold water systems, introduction to domestic hot water systems, introduction to appliance installation - installation practices I, outline storage and non-storage of hot and cold water supply pipe work, selection of pipe work and materials, fittings and control valves for given situations, outline the installation of water storage cisterns, outline means of preventing frost damage to water installations, outline factors which affect gravity circulation, undertake basic jointing techniques and applications required, using appropriate tools and equipment to join various types of pipes and fittings used in domestic water supplies.
