Pilates trains both body and mind. The exercises target the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine. Regular Pilates positively changes the body by strengthening the core stability and posture muscles. Breathing patterns improve, as does flexibility and muscle tone. Pilates is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and first time exercisers. The exercises are safe and are ideal for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Once the basic principles are taught, self-practice is recommended to build on the initial benefits. It is essential that beginners attend the first two sessions to gain maximum benefit from the course and to learn the basic principles. The beginners course will teach you the basic principles of core stability, correct breathing and ideal alignment of the body. You will learn fundamental exercises to challenge core stability and build a stronger back, a flatter stomach and improved overall posture.
