Modules

Year 1: Students are introduced to a wide range of photographic techniques and styles in line with the profession today; practical studio and location photography is supported by lectures, seminars and workshops covering a wide range of ideas around the world of advertising, fashion and the visual media. Year 2: Students learn to understand how their work might be placed in a variety of contexts including the magazine and advertising industries; more advanced skills in photography and image manipulation are supported by tuition in design and art direction to complement the photographic work; professional practice is a key element of year 2, when key aspects of business practice, marketing and professional networking are introduced. Year 3: Students concentrate on major self-initiated projects to advance their work to a high professional standard producing resolved collections of final photographs; involvement with the industry is seen as important at this stage and students are encouraged to liaise with the industry to understand and produce work that will fit within a contemporary context according to their chosen career path.
