The course will develop your understanding of photojournalism; documentary and art based photography and will also explore issues of photographic language and visual representation in photography. The course does cover practical and technical aspects of photography but a large part of the course looks at what you are shooting and why and how you can communicate ideas, views and feelings with photography. The course is heavily weighed towards photojournalism and documentary photography. Your tutor is Marc Vall�e, an award winning photojournalist whose clients include BBC News, Channel 4, La Repubblica, The Financial Times, The Guardian, The Independent, and The Observer.
Students must own a Digital SLR camera. Students should have either completed the beginners course at Harrow College or has a strong interest in photography and can use a digital SLR camera on a manual setting (shutter speeds, aperture and ISO etc).
