Course Description
Course units totalling 120 credits each year, either 80 / 40 or 60 / 60. Philosophy: e.g. Moral Philosophy; Intro to the Theory of Knowledge; Argument and Logic; Mind and Language; Ancient Philosophy; and options from outside the subject. Possibly an essay of 6,000 words in the 2nd year and a dissertation in the 3rd year. Classical civilisation & art history: Courses from the Department of Classics and Ancient History, and the School of Art History and Archaeology. Other courses are offered by the Depts of History, Theology and Philosophy and the Dept of Geology.

Assessment method
First-year examinations are normally Pass/Fail, allowing you to progress into the second year, but not contributing marks towards your final degree classification. The second year assessment contribute 25% of your final degree mark with the remaining 75% coming from course units in the third year.
