The course allows students to explore and understand the interaction between philosophy and theology and to acquire the skills to engage in philosophical reflection within or upon religious traditions.
Research methods and resources; dissertation; theology, philosophy and language from Plato to Hegel; plus options including: continental philosophy of religion; aesthetics, philosophy and religion; 20th century theology: Barth, Rahner and Balthasar; hermeneutical theory: an interdisciplinary approach; theology and postmodernism; phenomenology and the turn to religion.
