Park Lane College Leeds (PLCL) is the largest college in Leeds providing courses for young people, adults, international visitors and various companies. Park Lane College Leeds prides itself on offering the widest choice of courses with the highest quality of teaching. In its most recent OFSTED inspection it was also proven to be one of the most successful general Further Education Colleges in England. On 1st August 2007 Park Lane College Leeds merged with Keighley College (now ‘Park Lane College Keighley’) taking the student total to over 45,000!

There are 100 AS and A level combinations available at PLCL, so students can study the subjects they want and those which suit their future plans. The programmes consist of lectures, tutorials and, workshop sessions. A careful check is kept on each student’s progress but they are still given the freedom and the advantages of studying in an adult environment.

Park Lane College Leeds has an excellent track record into employment, for example 80% of students on sports courses gain employment in the sport and fitness industry on completion of their course. Young people can also choose to undertake a Modern Apprenticeship, which offers the experience of real work and pay during training.

Entertainment

Clubs and Societies

You can get involved in the Students’ Union, by registering for an NUS Extra Card, getting on the Executive Team, setting up societies or joining in with activities and events. You can also join the College Student Forum - 'Student Voice' - which meets regularly to discuss the College's service. You can also get involved in any club or society within the College which includes football, netball, basketball, etc. We welcome new ideas so you could even set up your own!

Accommodation

The College does not own any accommodation facilities. However, there are a number of different options open to students wishing to stay in the city such as shared student housing and private halls of residence. Our Student Support Team will be able to help with your requirements.

Fees and Funding

In September 2006 many Higher Education Institutions increased tuition fees. Park Lane College Leeds have not increased fees beyond the Government minimum, meaning fees for 2008/9 will be £1250 per year for a full time Foundation Degree, and £625 per year for part time . We hope that this decision will encourage students to choose Park Lane College Leeds, safe in the knowledge that their experience with us will be both rewarding and affordable.
