Paralegals perform similar work to that of a solicitor. They are responsible for their own clients and cases and work under a minimum of supervision. Paralegals take clients to the courtroom, participate in client conferences. They are also working for the commercial or public sector organisations. Some paralegals also represent their client before a District Judge or Tribunal.

The Level 7 Diploma in Paralegal Practice is aimed at law graduates and is designed to bridge the gap between an academic degree and the practical and procedural knowledge and skills necessary to be able to function effectively as a career Paralegal. A law degree is an academic qualification, but Paralegals need to also know procedural law and practice. Furthermore, it provides law graduates with a foundation in their quest to obtain a Training Contract. Students will also acquire transferable skills of interviewing, advocacy, negotiating and drafting.
