Upon completion of the course students are able to: respond and be proactive in managing the complex needs of the patient in pain, in a variety of settings; enhance and improve the quality of pain management within the healthcare arena.
Postgraduate certificate modules include: clinical management of pain: a non-pharmacological approach; clinical management of pain: a pharmacological approach; psychological and sociological perspectives on pain; the physiology of pain and its pharmacological management; postgraduate diploma modules include: economic policy and management issues in pain management; ethics and law relating to pain management; research theory and practice; Master's: research project.
