Before applying, applicants must be working in a school; schools should ideally be within the Worcester Partnership; the QTS Standards require trainees to have experience in at least 2 schools before being assessed for QTS; those who have only taught in 1 school in England, must provide evidence of relevant experience in another country; once an applicant has been accepted an initial meeting takes place either in the school or at the University; at this meeting decisions are made about the type and length of training; there are 2 routes available: the 1st is an assessment only route; the 2nd is a training route (maximum of 12 weeks); if the training route is chosen a training plan is written for the trainee to follow; the training route chosen is based on evidence provided by the trainee against the QTS Standards; applications must be made direct to the provider.
