Course Description
Activities in this area include studies in the field of: Properties and surface characteristics of particulate mineral fillers/polymer composites, multiphase polymer blends, structural polymer composites, recycling of thermoplastics, adhesive bonding - cure monitoring and properties, dynamic mechanical properties of materials, thermal and photo degradation of polymer materials, thermal and photostabilisation of polymer materials, dye and pigment chemistry, radiation curing and photo imaging science, plastics and pressure pipe studies, functional polymer materials for LED's optical switching devices and sensors, polymer analysis, food science, technology and manufacturing.

Entry Requirements
Masters degree or equivalent in a discipline appropriate to the proposed research and that includes sufficient training in research methods and the execution of a research project. If applicants do not meet this criteria but have had appropriate research or professional experience at postgraduate level which has resulted in published work, written reports, or other appropriate evidence of accomplishment this will be taken into consideration.
