The MSc Operations Management, Logistics and Accounting programme provides students with an opportunity to study operations management and accounting within the manufacturing and service sectors; the degree is closely aligned to the MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management but also includes both financial and cost accounting, giving students with an interest in finance a greater knowledge of financial decision-making in areas such as product costing and investing; the programme is designed to meet the needs of students who wish to pursue a career in either operations management or management accounting and provide them with the necessary specialist knowledge and skills appropriate to work in a variety of sectors including health, manufacturing, transport, engineering, and purchasing; the programme is modular in structure, comprising 180 credits.
Compulsory modules: international business strategy (10 credits); introduction to financial reporting (10 credits); operations management (20 credits); international logistics (10 credits); performance and decision management (10 credits); quality management, tools and techniques (20 credits); managerial decision making and control (20 credits); research methods for operations/supply chain management (20 credits); dissertation in operations/supply chain management (60 credits).
