The Opera Studies programme aims to develop and enhance your knowledge and appreciation of opera through study of the various aspects of this unique art form. As the programme is delivered by distance learning you can fit your study around your life and, most importantly, you will never be alone because you will have the support of a Personal Tutor for each module. Your work will be done via our Virtual Learning Network. Divided into three Levels, the programme centres around core modules, with a host of electives enabling you to pursue your own favourite areas. All awards are validated by the University of Manchester and there are no exams – each module has two assignments which are submitted for assessment receiving full written feedback. You will enjoy free access to many online resources, bringing a library and music into your home so that you can study at any time of the day or night. Optional Study Days give you the chance to meet Tutors and fellow students, and attend performances together. The Opera Studies programme will deepen your understanding and enliven your passion – and you need no prior musical or academic training to join.
