Oaklands College is a large further education and training provider based in Hertfordshire, with campuses in St Albans and Welwyn Garden City and a further training provision in  Borehamwood. Oaklands College has developed a reputation for delivering success in an interactive, supportive and inclusive environment.

The college offers around 1,500 full- and part-time courses to more than 7,500 students who come to study from across the region, while the sporting academies continue to draw from all over the UK.

Oaklands College offers a wide range of courses across many subjects: A-levels and Access to Higher Education, animal care, apprenticeships, art, fashion and design, beauty, business and retail, childcare studies, computing and IT, construction, engineering, English as a Foreign Language, equine studies, health and social care, hospitality and catering, media, music and performing arts, public services and sports studies.

Many courses offer practical work experience and the college is recognised for its teaching and learning facilities. All students have a personal tutor and there is a comprehensive range of advice about career opportunities, further study and university entrance. All students at Oaklands College benefit from a focus on their individual needs and the college aims to ensure that students enjoy their education and maximise their potential.

Facilities

College life is not just about getting qualifications, it’s also about making new friends, developing skills you already have and taking part in something you may not have considered pursuing. All full-time students at Oaklands College have the opportunity to combine both academic and vocational study

Student common rooms are situated on all campuses and offer a friendly atmosphere to eat, get together, play pool or video games. A range of sports activities are available including fitness training, football, table tennis, body conditioning and aerobics. These vary each year depending on what the students demand. The College also has links with the University of Hertfordshire, so by paying an affiliation fee you can join their sports clubs too.

The wireless network at Oaklands is open to any student mobile device from laptops, to PSPs to iPhones to encourage the use of mobile learning.
