IF YOU WANT TO WRITE A SCREENPLAY, WRITE COMEDY, OR LEARN EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT WRITING FOR FILM AND TV - YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.
Euroscript was created in 1995 supported by the Screenwriters' Workshop, with funding from the European Union’s Media II programme, with the aim of improving the quality of scripts going into production in Europe
Through intensive script development initiatives like The Euroscript Screen Story Competition, where writers are nursed through three drafts of their screenplay, and a broad training programme, and working in collaboration with writers and their producer/director teams, Euroscript’s goal is to facilitate the production of highest-quality marketable screenplays for film and television.
Euroscript comprises a team of experienced and diverse industry professionals including producers, working screenwriters, script consultants and film-makers.

The sad fact is many great writers spend months, even years, writing scripts which should have been binned at the ideas stage. So we’ve come up with a programme which will get you on the right track from the very start. Perhaps an idea’s been floating around in your head for months but you’ve never got around to writing it down. Perhaps you’ve written a couple of screenplays for which you can’t find interest. In this extreme and concentrated two-day course you’ll be brainstorming around characters, counter-characters, plots, arcs and goals to sculpt your idea while testing it against rigorous feedback. You’ll leave with a rough bullet-point outline of your script. For writers who want to continue working with us to develop their script we’ll be encouraging you to enter our Screen Story Competition 2013 for free; on 1st April 2013 ScriptFrenzy starts, where you commit to write the first draft in a month, along with 65,000 other writers from around the world. To save you months of wasted time, we’ll be ‘holding your hand’ from blank sheet to completed first draft. Our goal? To help you complete a screenplay with the best market potential possible. There was never a better time to write your script. SATURDAY Starting with a blank sheet of paper we’ll generate scores of film stories using a series of brainstorming exercises while reminding ourselves of the following: What is film? Are we writing cinematically? Is our central character working? Attitude shifting and how this is expressed. What are the goals of the characters? Are the character arcs powerful enough to carry a two-hour story? How are the arcs reflected in the character's world? What are the powerful relationships in the film? What’s the ‘expertise’ of our film? What’s the genre? What’s the market? Is it feasible to get this movie made? By the end of the afternoon writers will go away and prepare three story outline pitches based on the ‘Euroscript Formula’. SUNDAY Writers will come prepared to pitch three ideas each, based on yesterday’s workshop. We’ll help you choose which is the best (and why) and tell you which needs to be binned in a brutal but important exercise in making sure you’re writing a script which has a chance of being made. Working with your chosen idea, we’ll hammer home some good structure techniques. The pegs on the clothesline of structure – what happens during each important story beat of the film and how can this be expressed on screen visually and dramatically? Where will the emotional highs and lows come from? Is there enough plot? If not, how to generate more. The dos and don’ts of action writing. How to make your characters leap off the page. You’ll leave with a rough bullet-point outline of your screenplay. Go to our website Euroscript for further details or call 07515 38 1586.
