The course is suitable for people who have a desire to make a difference to people with health care deficits and it allows the students to register as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the student's chosen branch; the course aims to develop knowledge and skills related to practice that are founded on scientific enquiry and research; student nurses participate in inter-professional education which enables the student to share lectures and learning experiences with other disciplines including: medical students, pharmacists and speech and language therapists; whilst in clinical practice students are supported by experienced mentors who work closely with the University to ensure they are given opportunities in a variety of clinical settings.
Year 1: (Common foundation programme):core skills for health professionals; biological and numerical knowledge; introduction to nursing practice; professional requirements 1.
