This course offers a variety of perspectives on health, ill health and nursing practice in a range of settings, the course aims to develop nurses with the knowledge, skills and the interpersonal, managerial and caring abilities to enable them to provide effective practice; the common foundation programme�s major theme is health and the modules offered reflect this; they include concepts and theories of nursing, health studies, interpersonal skills, physiology, psychology and sociology; the programme offers branches in adult and mental health nursing; half of the programme is spent within the school and half in practice and/or clinical placements.
