The programme leads to nursing registration in the mental health field of nursing; students gain experience in their chosen field but students also gain knowledge of aspects of care of people of all ages in a wide variety of settings; students gain experience not only in the local area but also further afield and students have the opportunity to study nursing overseas, or in alternative UK settings, as an elective placement; successful completion of the course confers eligibility to register with the nursing and midwifery council (NMC) as a nurse.
