Glyndwr University Overview
The North East Wales Institute of Higher Education (NEWI) is based in Wrexham, North Wales, and offers University of Wales degrees. It has over 7000 students on over 250 courses. There is a wide range of full and part-time courses in a variety of subject areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The broad subject areas include: art and design; built environment; business; computing; education; engineering; health and medical education;complementary therapies; humanities; science and environment; social studies; social work and criminal justice;and sport and exercise sciences.
What's on Offer
North East Wales Institute of Higher Education has two campuses in Wrexham, both within a 5 minute walk from the railway station and the town centre. One campus houses the North Wales School of Art and Design and the other campus caters for all of the other academic disciplines offered at the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education. The Plas Coch campus boasts over 70 lecture theatres, seminar rooms and a wide range of workshops and laboratories. These are complemented by on-campus student accommodation, excellent library and learning resource facilities, a students’ union, sports centre, careers centre, recording studio, theatre studios and an art gallery. The North East Wales Institute of Higher Education has a highly experienced team of advisors on hand to provide students with any assistance they may require including advice on finance, health and welfare.
