The National Home Study College is one of the UK’s leading distance learning organisations, offering students the opportunity of studying for their diploma without ever having to attend class or college. Home study courses are very similar to those expected from a local college with regard to both content and quality. However, unlike attending a local college, home study means that students work entirely from home, completely in their own time and without ever having to attend classes or lectures.

Student Story
Tony Winters
'Like many students, I came to the college as a mature student, bored with my existing career in engineering and looking for a challenge now my children were a bit older. Always interested in history and the ancient world, I decided to try something in this field and enrolled for an introductory course in archaeology. Whilst it was a little difficult at first to discipline myself to sit down and study, the tutor was very supportive and within eight months I had completed the course and achieved my diploma.
I enjoyed the experience so much I have now moved on to a higher level course in Egyptology and Heiroglyphics and am already looking at degree programmes as a next step. Never particularly successful at school, I was pleased to find that the informal approach of the college and tutor support really helped me back into a learning situation. Unable to give up work to attend college or university, I would have been unable to pursue my interests without home study as an option.'
