Educating the best creative talent to the highest professional standard for tomorrow's screen industries
"The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is at the heart of film and television training in the UK,"
David Yates NFTS graduate
David should know, he is a BAFTA-winning director of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, not to mention highly-rated television dramas like Sex Traffic and State of Play.
A Skillset Film & Media Academy, the NFTS is the UK’s leading centre of excellence for postgraduate and professional training in film and television, offering full-time MA and diploma courses in all the key film and television disciplines. Based in Beaconsfield, just outside London, the NFTS has its own purpose-built studios, including two film stages, a separate large television studio, and post-production facilities rivalling those of many professional companies.
NFTS students learn from some of the most accomplished people working in film and television today. Taking on their future professional roles from the outset, they learn their craft by making films and television programmes, working to professional standards as closely as they can.
The NFTS has launched the careers of hundreds of people working in UK film and television today. From the people who originate the ideas, through those who commission them, to the film and television programme-makers who put them on our screens, NFTS alumni are among the most sought-after creative and technical personnel in the Industry.
You could be part of it. We’re looking for people with talent, commitment, passion, a voice of their own and the ability to work well with others. A degree is not essential if you have an impressive portfolio, a creative track record or an alternative qualification. Because our courses are designed for people with some experience of their chosen field of study, most students are in their early to mid-twenties when they arrive here.
