This course provides students with an excellent opportunity to pursue a career in the catering industry. The units they will study include preparing and cooking meat and poultry products, cooking and finishing basic fish dishes, sauces and soups, cooking basic pasta dishes, developing knowledge of vegetarian food. On successful completion of this course they could find employment as a cook or assistant chef.
Students will need to have a short basic skills assessment and an interview to demonstrate their enthusiasm.
