In this course, students will study the following main units: power tools, transferring levels, fixing ironmongery and door furniture, encasing pipes and baths, external doors, scaffolding, storage of materials, joists and joist coverings - trusses, stud partitions and stairs, fixing internal mouldings, health and safety, internal doors, frames and linings, wall and floor units. On completion of this course, students can progress onto a level 3 diploma: carpentry and joinery.
Students must have level 1 diploma or equivalent qualification in carpentry and joinery and/or have had several years experience working as a carpenter.
