This course covers all the skills and underpinning knowledge necessary to progress onto the NVQ 2 hairdressing. The units students will study include working with others, assisting with reception duties, shampooing and conditioning, assisting with perming and colouring techniques, health and safety, functional skills (IT, literacy and numeracy) and tutorials. On successful completion of this course they could progress onto the NVQ 2: hairdressing.
Students will need to demonstrate a mature approach to learning, good communication skills and an ability to work with others. They will be required to attend a pre-enrolment guidance session and a one-to-one interview.
