The emphasis of this course is on the technical aspects of music, sound, and audio generation, as well as on the recording and integration of components of media systems. Year 1 covers areas such as sound, music and multimedia fundamentals, software programming, marketing techniques, audio technology, studio techniques and computers & internet technology. Year 2 units include industry related project, applied programming, audio and visual editing techniques, sound, hardware and software, audio processing, studio techniques. On successful completion, participants can progress on to BSc (Hons) music and audio technology.
UCAS tariff points 120 from two full A-levels or equivalent and to include one full A level at 80 tariff points (i.e. grade C) in a relevant subject). Preferred subjects: Information Technology, Music Technology and Mathematics.
