This course focuses on the role of the creative recording producer. They will be introduced to the technologies and processes used to compose, produce and perform music and they will learn to manage the whole process of developing musical ideas in the studio with musicians, creating and producing recordings that satisfy clients requirements. Topics include: Year 1 - computer music production; contextual studies: recording technology; notation and harmony; sound studio techniques; music industry. Year 2 - creative sound; music and sound for moving image; contextual studies: music production; extension studies; professional practice brief; main project.
