This course helps the participants to work individually and collaboratively to create a commercial portfolio of songs, they will be required to present original material and lyrical ideas at weekly classes for critique, evaluation and discussion. They will also attend regular lectures and workshops on the craft of songwriting, where through the analysis of classic contemporary songs, they will develop a practical understanding of song forms and the many approaches to writing and composing. In addition, they will also be required to attend regular classes in piano or guitar and music literacy.
