Topics include: A foundation to the media industries and an understanding of associated industry sectors; study skills essential for your success at university, alongside key skills in research and understanding and managing information; the underlying principles of economics and finance; the core aspects of marketing and communications; the challenges facing the media and creative industries within the global context; an in depth study of the management practices associated with the music industry; law for the music and media industries; exploring business and economic principles for digital media and digital marketing; practical insights into the end-to-end management cycle of media production and distribution; music publishing and intellectual property; exploring professional practice and the commercial opportunities offered by the music and media industries, and how to become successful entrepreneurs in the creative industries;
