Course encourages the development of personal musical language and lets the student explore creative ideas through a series of composition projects; studio techniques are explored extensively and students utilise their skills by combining computerised resources with acoustic instruments; students investigate technology and sound in the widest sense by working in interdisciplinary areas; the course is flexible allowing the student to choose course content around their major project, which can take the form of large-scale compositions, a dissertation or presentation; in addition, students can choose to explore specialist areas such as: music psychology; analytical theory and historical or contemporary styles and trends; students can also opt to take part in work experience.
