The course provides the skills and competences required for working in radio, television and multimedia newsrooms, recording and editing packages on desktop systems and working on 24-hour rolling news; it equips students with a thorough understanding of the social, economic, ethical, regulatory, political, legal, financial and technological frameworks within which broadcast news and current affairs operate; students are able to make the best use of the broadcast quality digital recording studios, newsrooms and post-production suites; this course is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC).
