Location
The Main Site is located on the edge of Moulton village, which provides students with easy access to the shops, post office, garage and health centre, which are all within easy walking distance. A service bus runs from the centre of the village to Northampton and Kettering, and there is also a public bus service linking the College to the University of Northampton, which may be used free of charge between the 2 campuses by college staff and students.
Residential accommodation and the Student Social and Welfare Centre (including common rooms, bar, coffee shop and dining room) are located on this site.
Facilities
The Main Campus, Holcot Centre and Pitsford Centre
The Learning Resources Centre (including library and IT suites) and Higher Education Centre are located at the main site. The Holcot Centre, linked to the main site by a footpath through the Millennium arboretum, is the base for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Welfare, Furniture and Design, Building, Construction, and Floristry courses. The Centre offers a range of high quality teaching rooms together with laboratories, workshops, IT suites and other specialist resources. Located on this site are the Garden Centre, Florist, Pet Store, Veterinary Practice and Animal Therapy Centre which are open to the public throughout the year. All these resources exist to provide practical training for students in a realistic commercial environment.
A wide range of sports facilities occupy the space between the Holcot and Pitsford Centres. The sports centre includes two sports halls, complete with fitness suite, free weights gymnasium, dance studio and climbing wall, together with a range of specialist artificial and turf pitches catering for football, hockey, netball, rugby and tennis.
The Pitsford Centre is the base for Equestrian Studies and Sports Studies courses, and is also the location of the dairy unit. High quality teaching rooms and excellent practical facilities are the hallmark of the centre. The restaurant, study centre and IT suite mean that students based at this centre have most of their needs catered for on site. The Equestrian Centre operates commercially to provide students with credible practical experience, including a new international size indoor riding arena and livery yard and a Large Animal Therapy Centre.
South Northants Vocational Skills Academy – Silverstone
The purpose built academy close to Silverstone village was opened at the beginning of 2004 and extended in 2009. The academy provides educational programmes in the vocational areas of Building and Construction (Brickwork, Carpentry, and Plumbing), Animal Management and Arboriculture.
The facilities at the South Northants Vocational Skills Academy include fully equipped teaching workshops, classrooms, learning resource centre, IT suite and catering amenities together with a purpose built Animal Welfare Centre, housing a variety of animals.
Moulton College operates a transport network to assist students from South Northamptonshire, and parts of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, to travel to the Academy.
East Northants Vocational Skills Academy - Higham Ferrers
East Northants Vocational Skills Academy is a purpose built facility for teaching Building and Construction and Animal Management. Horticulture and Sports Studies courses will also be offered at the academy from 2011.
The facilities at the academy include four large teaching workshops, classrooms and a learning resource centre together with a range of catering and recreational amenities. The main construction trades include Brickwork, Carpentry and Plumbing, along with Wall and Floor Tiling. There is an Animal Welfare Centre housing a range of species appropriate to the Animal Management programmes offered at the academy. Moulton College operates a transport network to assist students from East Northamptonshire and Northampton Town, together with parts of Bedfordshire, to travel to the academy.
Daventry Vocational Skills Academy
The Daventry Vocational Skills Academy is located on Badby Road West and shares the site with Northampton College, Daventry.
The facilities at the academy include classrooms, IT suite, learning resource centre, refreshment area, and workshops equipped for the teaching of Brickwork, Plumbing and Carpentry and Joinery. Animal Management and Sports Studies courses will also be offered at the academy from 2011.
