Morley College is an adult education college located near Waterloo in central London, within close proximity to the heart of London’s cultural Southbank.

We offer a wide range of full and part time courses  for adults, starting from beginner levels to the more advanced. Our courses include: art, fashion, digital design, health, humanities, dance, drama, languages, music and Access to Higher Education.

Our aim is to provide our students with a stimulating and supportive environment in which to learn. We do this by ensuring that our courses are up to date and relevant, our tutors are well trained teachers and experienced practitioners, and by listening to the needs of our students.

 The College has a strong tradition for building relationships with its students, who return to the College time and time again because they are aware of the expertise of their teachers and the commitment that is invested in them. It also holds enormous potential for new learners, whether their needs are immediate or long term.

History:

Morley’s history dates back to the 1880’s when visionary, Emma Cons, and her supporters were determined to take action and raise the moral and material standards of the district around Waterloo Road. They took over the Royal Victoria Hall (the Old Vic) and provided entertainment, recitals and lectures, from eminent scientists, in the back-stage and theatre dressing rooms. Enthusiasm for these ‘penny lectures’ led to the establishment in 1889 of Morley Memorial College for Working Men and Women.
