The aim of this course (with Mark Brayley, who has run his own model sculpting and carving business for more than 20 years and is one of the UK's most renowned sculpture artists) is to learn how to create models for lost wax casting using an innovative material called Milliput, which is an epoxy resin used as an alternative to wax and is a more pliable substance than wax, making it much more suitable for making master patterns which can then be moulded. After setting, Milliput continues to cure, and once fully cured it can be machined, drilled, tapped, turned, filed, sawn, sandpapered and painted, giving it many uses, such as making jewellery or miniatures. This course is suitable for creative studio workers in any small model making industry, no model making experience are necessary.
