Compulsory: Research/evidence-based practice (15 credits); plus 60 credits selected from the following: core modules: empowering midwives in normal birth (30 credits); examination of the health newborn (30 credits); theory and practice of contraception and sexual health (30 credits); parenting and mental health (30 credits); antenatal and neonatal screening for health (30 credits); high risk/dependency midwifery (30 credits); dietetics and eating disorders (30 credits); plus composite module (15 credits), to include: legal and ethical issues; perinatal mental heath; domestic violence and safeguarding children; supporting bereaved parents; the remaining modules required to complete the course can be selected from the following options: mentorship and preceptorship (15 credits); leadership skills for heath care practice (15 credits); leading and organising services in heath care (30 credits); leading and managing care in nursing/midwifery practice (30 credits).
