This course provides practising midwives and other health care professionals with the opportunity to explore and analyse the latest developments in midwifery knowledge and practice. You will be encouraged to evaluate your own clinical practice, as well as to clinically appraise wider issues relevant to women and families in society.
Modules include: examination of the newborn; critical care for childbirth; normal childbirth; preparation for mentorship (via e-learning); pregnancy aquatics, nutrition and health; women's health (from a local to a global perspective); research methods; physics of ultrasound; ultrasound in gynaecology and early pregnancy; ultrasound in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy; evidence-based practice for patient care; leading and managing in health care organisations; leading change for patient and/or service improvement; project management and methods of inquiry for health care practice; screening and diagnosis; work-based learning for healthcare practice; dissertation.
