There are 2 routes to achieve the degree: for the taught route students must complete all 8 modules in the 1st and 2nd semester and a dissertation in the 3rd semester; the research route requires the completion of 4 core modules in the 1st semester and a substantial research project in the 2nd and 3rd semester.
1st semester (core modules): physics of semiconductor devices; physical and electrical measurements; computer-aided design; research methods; 2nd semester (specialised modules): fabrication technologies; nano materials and nano electronics; printable electronics; biological sensors; 3rd semester: dissertation/research project.
