Menswear is an ever, growing industry with a diverse range of markets ranging from High Street to High End designers. No matter whether you're a voyeur, beginner or already climbing the pathway to your goal, this is the course for you. The aim of this course is to give you a creative understanding of the design process in becoming a menswear designer or to develop your existing style to the next level of your chosen course or career direction. The outcome is a project portfolio of design work. The course will help develop your skills in any chosen areas of commercial, creative and conceptual design within men's tailoring, sportswear or casual wear. You will create an individually themed capsule collection and in doing so understand the design process. During the course you will:Work on concepts and sources of inspirationDo initial design researchDevelop mood and colour boardsBe introduced fabrics and their usesDo basic figure drawingUnderstand how to design a balanced collectionLearn illustration and technical drawing techniques to convey your ideasVisit inspirational museums and galleries to assist in the development of your design.
