Medical Biology examines the genetic, developmental and environmental basis of all major human diseases, and explores current as well as future treatments.
Year 1: Cellular & molecular biology; introduction to microbiology; parasites & pathogens; human physiology; biomedical practicals; good lab practice; tutorials. Year 2: Bioscience skills; medical microbiology; molecular biology and biochemistry; cell biology; haematology and transfusion; basic clinical biochemistry; human immunology; biochemistry practicals. Year 3: Science, society and employability; medical genetics; drug development; molecular causes of disease; human immunology and disease.
