Year 1: Electronic engineering (digital systems; circuit theory and design; analogue electronics; introduction to communications engineering); mechanical engineering (design; thermodynamics; mechanics; structures; fluid mechanics; materials and manufacture); engineering mathematics (numbers and functions; calculus and differential equations; complex numbers, vectors and series; statistics and probability). Years 2 and 3: Analogue and digital electronics; control; design; dynamics; electrical power and machines; fluid power systems; machine elements; management and organisation; manufacturing systems; materials and structures; microprocessors; power electronics; project. Year 4: Design; team design project; project management; plus options from: sensors and actuators; intelligent systems and control; microsystems; embedded systems; manufacturing systems. Optional sandwich year in industry at end of 2nd year.
