The Centre for Public Mental Health has accumulated extensive experience in the development and validation of diagnostic assessments and scale based measures of psychiatric morbidity, disability and health related quality of life. This course covers diagnostic classification and structured diagnostic assessments; scale theory (classical and IRT approaches); scale development; practical considerations in drafting questionnaires; reliability, criterion and construct validity; factor analysis; repeated measures; culture-fair assessment and cross-cultural comparison.
Participants must have Basic statistics knowledge.
