Course Description
A common first year, including pure and applied mathematics, statistics and computing, mathematical communication and modules in finance and economics. The second year comprises core modules and optional modules chosen from the areas of pure and applied mathematics and finance. Optional year studying in Europe or in North America, or on a professional placement. The final year comprises two core mathematics modules together with five optional modules. During the final year you also complete a project chosen in consultation with academic staff. Can be extended to a MMath.

Assessment method
Assessment is based on coursework, project work and annual examinations. Marks for each of the three years of the BSc courses are weighted in the ratio 1:3:6 to produce an overall aggregate from which the degree classification is determined. A less demanding BSc ordinary degree is available to students who, in the second-year examination, do not quite reach the standard required to pursue the honours course.
