Students choose from about 70 individual topics which range over the whole extent of pure mathematics, probability, statistics and mathematics of operational research, applied mathematics and theoretical physics; although many candidates are prospective research students, part III also constitutes a valuable course in mathematics and its applications for those who want further training before taking posts in industry, teaching or research establishments; in addition to the course fee, students may have to pay a college fee and a University Composition fee.
