Course Description
A small number of EngD studentships will be available. It is likely that candidates for these awards will have to meet EPSRC eligibility criteria. Please contact the Department (details above) for advice on the availability of these studentships before making an application to the Board of Graduate Studies. See EngD degree for more information.
Course Fees
Composition fees for 2008/09: £3,320 (full time UK/EU). All courses will incur an additional College fee of £2,090. For part-time research degrees (PhD, MSc, MLitt), the fee is 60% per annum of the full-time fee, for both the University Composition and College Fees. The Composition Fees for the MPhil in Economics and the MPhil in Finance will be £7,175 for Home/EU students; for the MPhil in Management and the MPhil in Technology Policy the Composition Fees will be £12,219 for Home/EU students. Staff undertaking research pay one third of 'Home' students' fees. Figures have been indicated for yearlong courses (those courses running for less than one year will be charged on a pro rata basis) & are liable to change. If you undertake a course involving abnormally expensive laboratory materials, you may be expected to contribute towards the cost of your research (in addition to the University Composition and College Fees). It is recommended that applicants refer to the Board of Graduate Studies website for up to date details before applying.

Entry Requirements
At least 2:1 honours degree from a UK university. An equivalent standard from an overseas university. A fluent command of the English Language - IELTS score 7.0with at least 6.0 in each element of the test; TOEFL - 600 in the paper-based test with 5.0 in the test of written English or 250 in the computer-based test with 5.0 in the Essay Writing Test, the minimum score must be achieved in both parts of the test in the same sitting. Completion of any current training or education course. Release from your current institution for the duration of your study.
