Massage is the use of hands to manipulate the soft tissues of the body, particularly muscles. It can be used for relaxation, stimulation or rehabilitation of the whole body or part of it, promoting suppleness, improving circulation and reducing stress. This course provides students with a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology of the body so that they have a complete knowledge of the structure and functions of each area on which they are working. Also incorporated is recognising the importance of professional conduct and business management. The course includes massage theory and practical incorporating the classical movements treating the whole body There is no theory exam for the Massage or Business elements of the course. There is a practical exam with an ITEC examiner coming to the school to assess students There is a separate course for Anatomy & Physiology and there is an Anatomy and Physiology examination (50 multiple choice question paper) for those who need this qualification.
