Students develop a thorough grounding in the scientific principles covering the ecosystem, habitats and species; the student is introduced to many areas of the discipline from location photography and working in the landscape to studio photography, time lapse, moving image and photomicrography, and if they are interested, the techniques of underwater photography; lectures and seminars explain the legal parameters and logistics of working with wildlife, and engage the student in the key debates on environmental and ecological issues.
Level 1: Photographic practice; principles of habitat; professional practice; principles of biodiversity. Level 2: Photographic practice; global conservation; professional practice. Level 3: Major portfolio; long essay and critical reflection on practice.
