Course Description
The college offers this Postgraduate Diploma course which leads to a recognised professional management qualification. This is accepted by universities for direct entry into the final year of an MBA. The subjects covered by this course are: Managing Operations, Managing Finance, Managing Human Relations, Marketing Management and Project Management. Students will also be required to compile a substantial Management Report. The Diploma is made up of 6 units. The units incorporate the underpinning knowledge and understanding for the new operational management NVQ at level 5. Unit titles and brief descriptions are given below. The units reflect the key roles of the new NVQs in Management but also include more theoretical aspects of the subject areas. One unit comprises a substantial written project to be based around a work related issue or problem. The inclusion of this management report reflects the need for students to show their ability to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned and, for those wishing to progress to further academic courses, their ability to undertake a large project of this type.
