The new Advanced Diploma in Society, Health & Development is suitable for students who would like to work in a variety of areas such as youth work, social work, childcare, health care and community justice. It will give you an opportunity to develop personal skills such as problem-solving, decision-making and effective communication while applying the knowledge you are learning to work-related settings. You will have the opportunity for 20 days of work experience. You will also learn how to work in a team and the skills behind communicating with colleagues and service users. Careers and Further Studies On completion of the Advanced Diploma, students can progress on to university programmes in areas such as Social Work, Early Years and Health, or pursue employment in related areas.
General Entry Requirements Students will need the following: 1. At least five GCSEs at grade C or above which must include English Language OR Maths GCSE (GCSE equivalents cannot be used as a substitute). 2. An average point score of 5.0 calculated from eight GCSE or equivalent qualifications using a selection of six GCSEs or equivalent vocational qualifications with the highest grades PLUS Maths and English Language GCSE (see page 84 of our prospectus on www.seevic-college.ac.uk for details of the calculation). 3. A commitment to an additional 4 hours of study per A Level subject per week. Specific Entry Requirements A CRB check will be required, please see page 85 of our prospectus for details.
