EXTENXIONS TRAINING CENTRE

Our mission at Extenxions Training Centre is to educate as many people in Food Hygiene, First Aid, Health & Safety. Our training methods are unique and ensure your staff are impacted with a renewed sense of purpose. We can train small groups of 5-10 at our training Centres in Streatham SW16 and Croydon, or alternatively attend at your organisation and train your people in house for you. We also offer bespoke courses for large groups of 20 to 40 people at a time.

About this course

            CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

This course introduces delegates to food safety and hygiene in the kitchen and provides them, on successful completion of the examination, with an approved food safety qualification which will enable them to work in food businesses. This new qualification is required to address new National Occupational Standards reflecting sector-specific needs. In line with this demand, the CIEH Level 2 Awards in Food Safety have been designed to address the food safety needs of the catering sector.

Who should attend?

This course is primarily aimed at people who want to work as food handlers in commercial premises or charitable organisations but is also useful to anyone wishing to learn more about food hygiene.  No prior knowledge or experience is required.

Through this programme you will learn:

·      The first principles of food hygiene

·      How micro organisms cause illness

·      Legislation

·      Prevention of contamination and food poisoning

·      The importance of temperature control of foods

·      How to prepare and present foods safely

·      Why proper storage of food is essential

·      The importance of personal hygiene

·      Proper cleaning and disinfection methods

·      Cleaning, food premises and equipment

·      The role design and structure of a kitchen plays

     ·      How to spot food safety hazards and how to eliminate them

·      The first principles of food hygiene

·      How micro organisms cause illness

·      The role design and structure of a kitchen plays

·      How to spot food safety hazards and how to eliminate them
