This course enables participants to develop practical design skills and emphasising the fundamental principles of floristry and retailing. It is an ideal stepping atone to more advanced qualifications. It covers contents that include: identify, check and monitor the quality of incoming cut material, identify and maintain the condition of plants and planted designs, plan, prepare and construct tied floristry designs, plan, prepare and construct funeral designs, plan, prepare and construct floral arrangements, plan, prepare and construct wedding designs with floral materials, display of floristry goods, introduction to working in the floristry industry, introduction to function decorating using floral displays and functional skills.
Participants should have a profile of a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades C - D, which preferably include 2 in English, Maths or Science within this range.
